handlewithcareI’m not going to waste my time writing about the ramifications of Miley’s moment as the Vanilla Ice of twerk. But you better believe that I will talk about it on a podcast.  It has been an epic week of tomfoolery from the Kanye eunuch appearing on the Kris Jenner show, to the VMA’s, to the mouth breathing college student who compared Macklemore to MLK. Idiocracy and Spring Breakers weren’t satire, they were sad prophecy.

So for the latest episode of Shots Fired, we had on Homeboy Sandman and Open Mike Eagle to help us make sense of the insanity, inanity, and other words that start with “I.” Sandman might be the only guest to fully capture the show’s essence, in which he uses it to fire shots in every direction. He has a new EP out on Stones Throw and you should check for it if you are interested in rappers who rap well and write compelling songs about more than three subjects. Open Mike Eagle has a new song, which I very much enjoy. I’m posting it below the jump, alongside of the episode, and a tutorial of The Proper Way for White People To Never Talk About Twerking again.
