Sufjan Stevens and Serengeti and Son Lux make an album and scarcely anyone in the rap Internet makes a sound. I get that it’s been a busy month and this is too weird for people who are still dubious on Doom because he’s a little off-kilter. But Geti is probably the first of the breed to deify the masked man and take his shape-shifting to absurdist extreme.

There’s a review coming next week of Sisyphus, but in the interim, let’s all gaze in wonder at the video for “Booty Call.” It defies all logic in that you take two depressives (Geti/Sufjan) put them together and somehow it turns into one of the most funny things they’ve ever made. These are sex raps with the tongue in cheek and everywhere else. They’re dressed like they just stepped out of Misshapes in 2004 and are just having the time of their lives like as though they were eating an ice cream sandwich. Shout out to the YouTube commenter who wrote: Sufjan transformed from the boy next-door to the dirty uncle who sleeps with your sister. Shout out to the guy who responded: your sister is probably safe.
