After the hellish winter we suffered along the east coast in 2013-2014, where 60 inches of snow pelted us into psychological mince meat, the spring of 2014 has been a mirage of sorts – 80 degree temperatures overtaken by rain, cool nights, and beautiful sunny days stomped out when the sun goes down. We’ll take what we can get. After I finally stashed the last of my sweaters, I could give a damn about global warming and the effects of delayed (or elongated) seasons running wild. We didn’t have a prayer this past winter, so it’s time to drink beer on a weeknight because it tastes good, not as penance or punishment.
This mix is for driving with the windows down. It’s for the fly shortie in the passengar seat who wants to put her barefeet on the dash. It’s for car speakers, headphones, but not computer speakers. It’s for ales, IPAs, and Moscow mules. It’s for smoking cigarettes on the deck and flicking them on whoever is below. It’s for the bass and the treble. It’s for the east coast with some flashes of funk, ’90s melodies, and quiet bravado. It’s for doing nothing in the loudest possible way.
