In the event that the rock you’re living under has been without Internet access until you just started reading this, the Black Cab Sessions are a series of videos of artists performing in the backseat of London’s black cabs.  During the years of its existence, artists have ranged from Thundercat to John Reilly (yes, that one) and Grizzly Bear to Lykke Li.  Suffice to say, BC does not play around with its talent.

During their recent performance at Field Day, Run the Jewels took a ride and shared a world weary version of “Early.”  Neither Killer Mike nor El-P sound jetlagged, but both give off a very frustrated-at-the-state-of-the-world vibe. The effect gives yet another layer of depth to the already powerful track.  Extra special props to Boots periodically popping up to slay the hook, making this that much more than two dudes rapping over a pre-recorded track in the back of a car.  The only question that remains is when will Uber get in on this.
