Chris Daly flew his drone into a Yellowstone bison.

Rarely have visuals so perfectly fit the music that accompanies it as so happens with the Neil Krug-directed video for “Break Apart,” the second single from Bonobo’s upcoming sixth album, Migration (due 1-13-17 on Ninja Tune). Using overhead drone footage of ghostly landscapes that could just as easily be alien planets as our own freaky, blue marble, the video grooves in sync with the British producer’s languid, fluid jam. Lightly plucked strings and a sparse piano are backed by near falsetto vocals and just enough percussion to propel the movement forward.

For this one, the pygmy chip monikered musician (aka Simon Green) enlisted the vocal talents of Rhye (aka Michael Milosh). Green sketched out the initial song before having Rhye record his tracks in Berlin prior to adding horns in London and completing the final mixing in LA. Otherwordly visuals for a transcontinental affair just seems fitting.
