Yours Truly’s Songs for Scratch series continues to defy the inherent gravity of creating one song in one day from two people who have never met. But Jacques Greene, Montreal luxury condo-house producer, and Tinashe start splashing colors around to create the excellent “Painted Faces.” Maybe you can chalk it up to the mystical vibes of a studio building that was once a Masonic Temple, once run by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and the home of famous recordings from The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, and The Doors. Or maybe it’s that they recorded close to the beach (and obviously have that whole talent thing).

This song is destined to soundtrack numerous molly flights by early 20-somethings this spring that end up with someone saying the phrase, “I feel like my brain is flying.” That’s okay. Brains need to fly too. Let’s just hope that this doesn’t soundtrack sorority face paint parties.Track and the video making-of, below the jump.
