Fine Robots, you win. I distrust the hype machine. I loathe the Coachella tease that only got us five minutes with the God Kellz, rather than dancing robots and pyramids and vocoders. Do you know how much high-powered acid and moon rocks I squandered in the off-hand chance that Daft Punk would pop up?  Do you know how boring Phoenix remains even on the strongest and most euphoric chemicals you can find? It’s terrifying to consider.

But if you bring back disco, complete with Chic’s Nile Rodgers looking like Rick James, Pharrell getting jiggy in a shiny suit and automatons playing the drums, I am as helpless as everyone else. My skepticism was at all-time high considering Daft Punk was treading towards the one hot album every ten year average, but this is sufficiently trippy. By the time, the robots play Coachella 2014, there are going to be both 18-year olds dressing up like they were at Studio 54 and 54 Year-Olds trying to dress like they were 18. It will be grotesque. But this is as good as it had to be (at least this edit is).  I suppose I should just go ahead and hail our old-new robot overlords now.

The group also just released their tracklist via Vine (of course). It features collaborations with the Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Pharrell, Paul Williams, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Chilly Gonzales, DJ Falcon, and Todd Edwards. It’s below the jump.
