Rosh Hashanah is one week away, which means it’s about that time for secular Semites to start dipping apples in honey (dipped spliffs) and spell checking how to spell Rosh Hashanah. How would I know how to do that? I dropped out of Hebrew School to take private lessons with a West Virginian reform Rabbi who had formerly been Jerry West’s basketball coach. Jules Rivlin was also an All-American basketball player during the time when Jews were able to be All-American basketball players. Moreover, he was a wise man who instilled priceless knowledge about the power of education, which I have squandered on semi-professional blogging. I’m sorry, Jules.

Jules has gone to the great Macabbi squad in sky so I can’t regale him with this Israeli psychedelic rock mix cobbled together by the German DJ Otto Manic. For what it’s worth, this might be the best gesture of goodwill by a German towards a Jew in decades. I’m not particularly into the ethnic pride thing, but there’s a part of me that’s stunned by how dirty and dusted this psych rock is.
