Though he doesn’t carry the great one’s commercial clout, Brown’s come-up narrative and Spike Jonze inspired video treatment recall none other than Biggie and given his proclivities for shockingly honest rhymes and autobiographical storytelling, it’s a fitting comparison. Then there’s his ability to effortlessly switch lanes from classic boom-bap to high energy club tracks to El-P produced noise without missing a beat – a rare feat in an increasingly specialized rap landscape. 31 coming soon…
