Maybe you remember Silent Dust, the British producers who contributed a mix to our tectonically active mix series last December. Their eponymous debut was one of last year’s slept-on gems, a transportive work that warped noirish darkness into the contemporary IDM world.

The pair have returned with a pair of singles that alternately recall Burial, Nosaj Thing, and Nicolas Jaar. The sound is faintly familiar, but never apes their closest analogues, instead tapping into the same veins of emotion that those artists elicit. It’s the sort of thing you’d want to hear if you were ice skating on a glacier on ether.
