I’m taking a break from a Sunday revisit of Masta Ace’s Sittin’ on Chrome to rewind this reggae patois-laced tune from Nic Jaar and someone named Theatre Roosevelt. Presumably, this is just like a new Diplo alias or something. Or some celebrity’s daughter who is getting Jaared. Who knows? All I know is that “The Ego” sounds like they took the beat for Heavy D’s “Nuttin’ but Love” and re-fixed it into a funky post-Burial IDM track. That is to say, I love it.
