It’s unclear whether Foxygen have a bad case of ADD or have figured out their sound. If so,  said sound is little more than slapping together sightly dissimilar aesthetics into a three minute pop song. “Shuggie” takes its name after a cult early 70s soul singer, while suturing Bowie, Jacques Brel, and the Kinks into a very catchy pastiche. For whatever reason, I kept on returning to this track, in spite of it being created by a band whose named sounds like a boy created for the Oxygen network. Well played. I think?
