Max Bell’s skyline is the clearest.

Jay-Z’s second annual Budweiser Made In America Festival is this Labor Day weekend. Somehow Black Hippy aren’t at the top of the bill.

Perhaps to rectify this (and many, many other things Jay-Z must atone for), Hov’s company Life+Times has released a short documentary (16 mins) chronicling TDE’s performances over the last year, along with bits about the group’s formation and rise. If you’ve seen Black Hippy live, the concert footage won’t come close to capturing that experience. But the backstage antics, candid interviews, and archival footage are worth their weight in bucket hats and Nike Cortezs.

Come for Ab-Soul’s short tour of Del Amo Park in Carson, stay for one of the most harrowing and heartwarming Schoolboy Q interviews caught on tape. This is necessary viewing. Hopefully a full-length doc will be on its way in the near future.

Schoolboy’s video for “Collard Greens” below the jump because in a just world it would’ve been nominated for a VMA.
