The unofficial but Teebs-approved video for “Anchor Steam” puts a pixie-haired face on his interstellar synesthesia. The press kit one-liner comes courtesy of Flying Lotus who described his music as sounding the way Avatar looks. It’s a perfect description — one validated by  Google image searching, “Teebs Paintings.” Even in pixelated form, his abstract flair and furious color radiates like his brilliant debut Ardour, which has soundtracked almost every disoriented drive of the last few months. No need to recite the litany of music-art world collisions. Teebs is merely the latest, but he is the most impressive Chino Hills product since Abe Vigoda. If you’re late to the party, here is an array of past mixes that he’s been dropping since the days when he was a classmate with Ryan Atwood.

As for the tracks, “Anchor Steam” hails from a 10″ split done with Daedelus.  While the “Impulse” remix is a promotional track for the Magical Properties tour, also featuring Gaslamp, Daedelus, Free the Robots, Samiyam and 12th Planet that will be electrocuting the unprepared all fall.
