Intelligent demon music. On some level, the fact that Sufi and Ish of Shabazz are cousins makes no sense. On most levels, it is evidence of eccentricity being genetic.
I am patiently waiting for The Sufi in the Palace, but I am nonetheless excited to bump The 9th Inning EP very loudly to scare the children at the Junior High school across the street from me. I caught those kids bumping Drake and The Venga Boys last week — or maybe that was a FloRida song.
This is more hip hop than anything released under the Sufi name, it’s older and closer in spirit to his Sumach screeds. Yet it is still distinctly a Sufi record — meaning you can bob your head and burn witches to it.
