Remember that incredible Boiler Room Set Bonobo did last September? Fans of the chimpantasic DJ probably also will recall that dope remix of Henri Texier’s Les LaBas dropped during said set. Wouldn’t you know it, turns out the remix was from none other than aforementioned monkey lover also known as Simon Green. In recognition of the end of the seemingly never ending North Border Tour (saw it myself last April when he rolled through DC), Bonobo just posted the remix on his SoundCloud.

Green takes what is arguably the master work from the French, self-taught double bassist’s “Varech” album, the one where he goes apeshit on all the instruments– double-bass, oud, flute, bombard, fender-bass and percussion– himself, and adds some electro-love of his own. And it’s so hard to find quality oud playing these days. Looping drums, titchy cymbals and echoing vocal effects give it the definitive Bonobo touch. Equally good for springtime romances and group grooming sessions.
