DocZeus
As a native Clevelander, B.J. “Doc Zeus” Steiner believes in nothing beyond the icy embrace of Kierkegaardian nihilism. His formative childhood influences include Wu-Tang Clan, Sarah Michelle Gellar, nWo-era Hulk Hogan and game seven of the 1997 World Series. As a fully grown adult, he has learned to embrace the hate and become a semi-professional rap music critic specializing on calling you on your shit. He still watches professional wrestling and is definitely not married. Swipe right, ladies!

Doc Zeus is taking this back to the days before he had a certified player hating degree. Flashback to the summer of 2005: America was in the midst of year five of the George W. Bush “Appetite For Destruction” tour, my beloved Cleveland Cavaliers had just signed the Incomparable Larry Hughes and his 40.7% career […]

Doc Zeus is the new face of Avion Tequila. I like Curren$y and by extension his music, precisely because he seems like the kind of Trey Kerby-certified bro who likes arguing about sports and would enjoy watching aggressively stupid movies under the influence of stimulants. He spends time in his raps complaining about shitty officiating […]

Doc Zeus’s municipal marvelousity has yet to be magnificently memorialized. Listening to Maybach Music Group’s Self-Made Vol. 1 can be described in a series of short words that may or may not have been used by Rick Ross on the actual album: astonishing, wonderment, immaculateness, impeccability, magnificentience, flawlessment, superlativery, gloriousic and amazitude. Like Xanadu and […]

Doc Zeus would like everyone to know that he did not select the picture above. “In 100 years, people will look back and appreciate it.” – Lil B “Not Fucking Likely.” – Doc Zeus I suppose there’s something slightly charming about the growing cult of personality surrounding Bay Area rapper, Lil B. His grand sense […]

Doc Zeus caught him at the red light – on Putnam Avenue and Franklin, where they used to heat up the cipher with a shot that was hyper than your average JFK sniper. RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA The boy’s face has grown ragged. It has acquired the sunken jowls of someone who has been gone longer […]

Doc Zeus and Doc Dre attended the same medical school. Celebrity deaths in the Age Of Twitter can often make placing an artist’s legacy in the proper context difficult. The rush to lionize a public figure in the wake of their passing often leads to otherwise marginal personalities in the annals of pop culture to […]

Doc Zeus lives every day like it’s Festivus. My favorite day of the year is the day XXL Magazine announces it’s Freshman 10 cover. For a pure-bred hater like myself, it gives me the chance the exercise my prodigious talents at mockery in short, sarcastic blasts on Twitter and blogs. It’s like Christmas Day except […]

Doc Zeus has a PhD: a player hating degree. I will be rooting for the Packers on Sunday. Now I have no allegiance to Wisconsin, nor do I have any special affinity for fromage. I don’t care for their colors and I certainly couldn’t care less if a Packers victory would somehow spite Brett Favre […]

In his quest to perfect the art of contrarianism, Doc Zeus writes a “I Can’t Go To Sleep” entry on one of 2010’s least slept-on albums. Every society creates their own monster myths that serve to reflect the fears and prejudices harbored within its collective psyche. The Dark Ages feared the witch as a reflection […]
